Achieving an Equal Future in COVID 19 World

Achieving an Equal Future in COVID 19 World

In the wake of pandemics, the world is reminded of its vulnerability and perishability. The human race that is often tilted towards self-destruction through arrogance and male chauvinism is brought to its senses; men and women alike, we are all mortal human beings. We are who we are today due to our past generations, and owe it to coming ones; we cannot jeopardize any ones future by being careless and selfish.

Truly, all is at our disposal to exploit, but without endangering our future generations.

How best to do this, than by acknowledging the very essential and life-giving roles that our wives, mothers, sisters, daughters and best of friends, do. It is they that God saw befitting to journey with the male human species for there to be sustainability and fruition.

In our censuses, the distribution of male to female, continues to show an almost 50-50 share. If nature is so accurate as to realize that which befits its sustainability and development, who are we to question its very wisdom?

As we take on the challenge of COVID 19, and try to rebuild our brokenness, we need to remind ourselves of some realities.

Without the realization of the full potential of the woman, the human male species will not only cease to develop, it will stagnate and gradually shrivel towards extinction. The scholarly world has it that notable feminine species, in the absence of a male mate, has the capacity to adopt, to ensure the continuation of a generation. Addressing the adaptability of women, explains why despite the proliferation of famine-led single parent families, generations of world leaders continue to be. With the over 60% of widowhood, for women above 60 years, leaves over 40% of households run by women.

In such an imbalanced rate of survival, the world continues to be largely run by the woman. Traditionally, our small domiciles turned into homes, the moment a woman was in them. It is only then that fire was lit, and life flourished. With such a strong arm in the hand of the woman, where did the stereotypical concept of women being weak come from?

Today we are reminded of the glaring reality: women are significant components of our existence. Indeed, they are a necessary and an essential part of the human being since the inception of the world.

It is only fair, that we acknowledge that.

My dear mothers, wives, sisters and even daughters, the world has not treated you so fairly on matters equality. With strong determination and humility, you have continued to take charge of that which is yours.

Though a tough battle, your resilience and persistence remain outstanding tools.

That rightful position is not to be offered on a silver platter, rather, it is to be claimed. Continue the unending resilience and solidarity as you claim that position. Continue claiming it through your motherly care of our growing minds. Always remember you are the first un-matched teachers to the young minds. Through you, initial feeding and nursing is done, let alone continued surveillance ensuring security. A laid back position, desisting from continued lobbying and advocacy in relation to the feminine rightful position, is a surrender to fate. It is throwing the baby and the bath water. It is indeed allowing for the destruction of future generations.

As for my fellow male human race, taking up arms to combat our very dear ones, is a combat against the self. It is a non-sustainable flexing of physical muscles that soon shrivel, as we approach the half-century mark. It is a foolish war against our very essence. These that were meant to be our befitting companions, were never a threat to our being, are not and never will they be. The cooperation that they elicit, in their feminine child games, in their merry-go-rounds and in their table banking organs, is a sure continued show of their might. Our genuine success can only be in tapping these strengths.

May we learn from them as we support them to take up their rightful Divine granted position.

It is only then that our developing world shall move up the ladder of integral development, only then shall our progress be sustainable.

It is then that we shall realize true Social Transformation that is all inclusive.

Enjoy this wonderful day, and stand up to be counted among the world heroines in the apparent small things that you always do!
